Christmas Concerts
There is always something a bit special going on at this time of year.
Apart from the joy of preaching on the birth of Christ and getting to sing carols, I get to go to concerts.
The first one was my grandson Peter's. His school did the Nativity Story. It was a musical version and he was Joseph. It was wonderful and we are so grateful that we have the freedom in our PC world to put hear the story of Christmas in our state schools.
On Tuesday we went to Llandaff Cathedral for a very traditional 9 lessons and carols put on by Howell's School in Cardiff. Our granddaughter Chloe was in the middle school choir. Again a packed Cathedral with several hundrded guests, was privileged to hear 9 public readings from the Word of God and to sing along to some of the great carols - Once in Royal; O Come all ye Faithful and Hark the Herald Angels sing. The choir was magnificent - of course!
On Thursday we popped over to Bristol. Our son Paul started a community choir in conjunction with his church, Ebenezer Evangelical Church. He got 35 singers together, trained them, arranged the backing tracks and conducted them for two concerts. We were proud parents as we enjoyed the result of all his hard work at the Thursday Concert! It was a delight to hear some of the Graham Kendrick and Michael Card Christmas songs again and to watch our son as he got the most out of untrained amateurs. We praise God for Paul's enthusiasm and dedication.
May we wish you all a very blessed and happy Christmas and we pray that the New Year will see His kingdom coming on earth as it is in heaven.
