The Blessing of Grandchildren
Perhaps the greatest delight of our time in the UK is seeing our grandchildren!
When Jacob eventually arrived in Egypt and his two grandsons were brought into his home, he said, "Bring them here to me so that I may bless them," Genesis 48:9. How wonderful it is to be able to bless our grandchildren!
At the end of October we spent many, many, happy hours with both Isaac and Charlie. We laughed, played and walked together. We had play fights, read books and watched Veggie Tales together. We sung and danced and generally had so much fun together! And we praised God together for the wonderful gift of life!
In the beginning of October we had the kind of phonecall that makes you happy. Our older grandchildren, Chloe, Chais and Peter asked if they could come and have a sleepover with us. There is nothing quite so special to us. They also came with our new 'adopted' granddaughter from Germany Chrissy.
Sandra and the girls went shopping! I could see Sandra's eyes light up as she walked out the doors with three girls in tow. We boys watched rugby!
We are so grateful to God for the gift of our grandchildren and we can hardly wait until next weekend when we are going going away together!
